BIOGRAPHY

Jerome was born in Montreal, Canada. Both his parents are from France, and most of his relatives still reside in France. Jerome began singing before he learned to speak, and began playing the organ at age 1. He began studying the Suzuki method of piano at age 3, and switched to Royal Conservatory after completing grade 4 in the Suzuki method. He began writing his own music at age seven, and shortly after, began performing at Vancouver's Granville Island on weekends. While in elementary school, Jerome was asked to play the lead french role in every school musical and invivted to join the British Columbia Children's Honour Choir. In 1986, Jerome performed at the EXPO86 World Exhibition in Vancouver, sparking his interest in stage performance. Jerome discontinued piano lessons at age 12, but continued to play piano on his own every day.

After graduating from highschool, Jerome became interested in chinese music. He would go to karaoke several times a week, and soon he could read chinese characters. He began to speak with friends and even flew to Taiwan for the very first time. His brief visit to Taiwan increased his interest in chinese, and within the next year, he competed and won first place in both divisions at the 3rd Canadian Chinese Songwriter's Quest. He was the first caucasian to enter, and also the first mandarin song to ever win (previous years were all cantonese songs). Chinese celebrity 王傑 took an interest in Jerome at this point, and was Jerome's mentor for well over a year. At this point in time, Jerome was in the middle of his software engineering studies at the University of British Columbia and decided to complete his degree. Jerome's song 醒在夢裡, with lyrics written by long-time friend Johnny Chiang, was played over the chinese radio stations canada-wide and he appeared on chinese television several times. He performed throughout the lower mainland at venues including the Michael J Fox theatre, the Plaza of Nations, and even Stanley Park, following 周華建.

In 2008, Jerome made history again, as the first caucasian to appear on Taiwan's 超級星光大道 - Super Star Boulevard, the highest rated show in Taiwan. To everyone's surprise, not only did he make the top 100, he lasted 3 months, making it to the top 20 in Taiwan and top 29 in the world. He made history again, performing his own song 一起過好 - the first time a caucasian performed a song entirely written on his own (including the chinese lyrics) in Taiwan, and on international television. After the show, he moved to Taipei, to further pursue his music.

Currently Jerome is producing music in Taipei, but is not performing live due to Taiwanese regulations regarding working permits for live performance. Jerome hopes to publish a CD sometime soon.

Jerome is extremely greatful for his time on Taiwanese television, and is endlessly greatful to his fans for their continued support. He has learned a lot, and hopes to release more music in the very near future. He loves Taiwan very much.
